The West's Schism: Trump vs. Globalism

Ideological Battle and a New Era

Trump's arrival in 2024 divided the West. His rejection of globalism, war against the "deep state," and pursuit of sovereignty challenged the world order. How will this affect Russia, and will it open opportunities in multipolarity?

With Donald Trump and his team’s arrival at the White House, the entire structure of international relations began transforming radically. Fundamentally, the accelerating division of the West became a key manifestation of this new global reality. Many discuss this, but the phenomenon has yet to undergo comprehensive geopolitical and ideological analysis.

The West’s division is primarily ideological. Geopolitical aspects are secondary. The reality is that Trump and his supporters, who won the 2024 U.S. election, radically oppose liberal globalism. This is neither temporary nor partisan.

This is a fundamental issue. The current U.S. president anchors his ideology, policy, and strategy on a core thesis: The left-liberal ideology that dominated the West (and the world) for decades—especially after the USSR and Warsaw Pact collapsed—has exhausted itself, undermined U.S. sovereignty, and must be rejected. Unlike neocons, Trump seeks not to adjust globalism but to dismantle it entirely.

Trump rejects liberal globalization in all its forms, offering an alternative vision for the world order. His success isn’t guaranteed, but his popular support and resolve grant him the opportunity to try.

Trumpism vs. Globalism

Trumpism systemically opposes global liberalism. While liberals pursue world government and erased national borders, Trump champions U.S. sovereignty and multipolarity.

The global deep state, entrenched in Western elites, struggles to retain control, but Trump challenges it by dismantling its structures within the U.S.

Global Consequences

The West’s schism accelerates: Trump’s America and the EU—globalism’s bastion—move in opposing directions. This reinforces multipolarity, aligning with Russia’s interests.

Yet the global deep state remains powerful, and its resistance will be fierce. The battle has only just begun.
